Help for Every Step of the Writing Process

From Draft to Done

About my services

I help writers write, polish, and publish their writing, and specialize in fiction, memoir, and essay.

I’ve published two novels, dozens of personal essays and short stories, (my first collection of short stories will be out next year), and work as an MFA instructor. Unlike other coaches, this means I have the hard-won experience to provide authentic, honest feedback and support to writers of all levels.

You may need a writing coach if you…

  • Want honest feedback on your novel, memoir, essay or story—and can’t ask your mom

  • Are stuck halfway through a book and can’t get going again

  • Finished a book and wonder how to get an agent

  • Want to build a platform before you pitch your book to agents

You’re not alone

I offer concrete, practical advice and feedback in a warm, empathetic, and optimistic tone. My ideal client is someone who has taken some classes before, and is serious about improving their work and getting it published. I generally am not that helpful for people who aim to self-publish, or who don’t care about publishing their work.

I’m direct and candid, and I’ll hold you (kindly) accountable with deadlines and fair expectations. I want to see you improve on your natural talents, achieve your goals, and gain confidence in your creative writing skills, process and products.
